3 Ways to Have A Better Day
Are you having a bad day? A day where nothing seems to go your way, you get stuck at every traffic light, your boss hates the project that you spent countless hours working on, your husband is being a jerk and the baby just puked in the back seat. If you are having that kind of day, here are three quick tips that can turn your day and your attitude around.
Do something nice for someone else
I know this seems counter-intuitive but it is my number one go-to thing to make my day better. There is something incredibly uplifting about doing something nice for someone else. Grab a card for your husband, make your kids favorite dinner or bring lunch to an elderly friend. My favorite thing to do when I am having a bad day is to buy the person in line behind me lunch. I especially like this when I am in the drive-thru line because it is such a surprise to the person behind me.
Find Your Happy Quote
Find a quote, Bible verse or short poem that you can reread for a quick pick me up. This one is very personal, it has to be something that has meaning to you, makes you think of a happy time or something joyful in your life. Maybe your children, your husband, your pets, whatever makes you smile. The Bible quote below is one of my favorites. It makes me think of my husband, my wedding day and generally makes me smile. What’s your favorite quote?
Play a Happy Tune
We all have our favorite jam, the one that makes us
turn up the volume and wiggle in our seats. There is also the song that makes us laugh, the song that makes us remember some special time. Music is a quick way to get a mood lift. Put a few of your favorites on your phone or iPad so you can plug your earphones in and turn off everything else. You might have to hide in the bathroom for a few minutes but this can be a great way to get a quick mood lift.
My favorite: Mind Your Own Biscuits – Kasey Musgraves
