When I need Strength
Some days I go to the Bible because I just don’t think I can do it. I doubt myself or I am concerned about something going on around me. I often look to the book of Psalm when I am looking for strength. You will find that evidenced in these verses. These Bible verses remind me that I am not alone, and God will give me strength to get me through.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken
2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me
It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.
When I am Tired
Some days I am tired. I am tired physically, mentally and spiritually. I go to the Bible to find a little inspiration and a little comfort from the Lord’s word. Often times I am reminded the Lord will comfort me, but there are many others out there who are in need of comfort worse than I am.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me
When I Need a Kick in the Pants
We all need one now and then. We get whiny, we get miserable. It happens to the best of us. Many people don’t think of the Bible as some place to go for a good kick in the rear, but God knows we need a boost.
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous
When I Need Patience
Patience is not a virtue I was blessed with. I want the world to be like digital pictures, instant. Sometimes I need a few good Bible verses to remind me that just because technology is instant, real life isn’t. These verses remind me to slow down and have a little patience.
Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up
Just Plain Inspirational Bible Verses
Like the title says, these are verses that I have found inspirational. It always seems I find more and more every time I read my Bible. Sometimes the preacher points them out on Sunday, sometime I stumble across them on my own. Either way there are a lot of inspirational Bible verses out there.
Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.
Look to the Lord
These verses show that God is great and is with us always. He is there to comfort us, to give us strength and to remind us we need to get our butts in moving. We can do anything with the Lord’s help.
